In 2023, The Lucy Faithfull Foundation launched Shore, a new online resource for young people, age 13-18, worried about their own or someone else’s sexual thoughts and behaviours.
Research indicates that around a third of sexual abuse is carried out by children and young people in the UK. Shore’s mission is to address this pressing public health issue by offering accessible, practical advice and dedicated support for young people concerned about harmful sexual behaviour.
This pioneering website provides a safe space for teenagers to navigate the complexities of sexual relationships and behaviour, offering reliable information and advice on a range of topics including consent, the law, online risks and concerns about sexual thoughts or behaviours.
The website offers an anonymous and confidential chat and email service for young people to seek advice and support on a variety of issues relating to both online and offline sexual behaviour.
Shore offers young people clear information and advice, as well as confidential and anonymous support through the chat and email service.
The website is funded through contributions from various projects, including several EU‑funded initiatives — you can find more details about them on the About Us page.
